چکیده
In recent years much progress has been made in applying field-theoretic renormalization-group methods to models of diffusion-limited chemical reactions. One such example was a study by the present authors of the A + B--* ~ annihilation reaction with random initial conditions and equal particle densities. III Our purpose here is to correct a mistake contained in this worked and to revise the conclusions accordingly. In particular, we now find for spatial dimensions 2 < d < 4 that the A, B particle densities decay in time with the universal form

Renormalization Group Study of the A + B ~ 0 Diffusion-Limited Reaction
The A + B ~ ~ diffusion-limited reaction, with equal initial densities a (0)= b(0)=n0, is studied by means of a field-theoretic renormalization group formulation of the problem. For dimension d > 2 an effective theory is derived, from which the density and correlation functions call be calculated. We find the density decays in time as a ,b~Cv /~ (Dt ) -a/4 for d<4 , with 3 = n 0 C'n0 a/-~ + ......
متن کاملA renormalization group study of a class of reaction - diffusion model , with particles input
We study a class of reaction-diffusion model extrapolating continuously between the pure coagulation-diffusion case (A + A → A) and the pure annihilationdiffusion one (A + A → ∅) with particles input (∅ → A) at a rate J . For dimension d ≤ 2, the dynamics strongly depends on the fluctuations while, for d > 2, the behaviour is mean-field like. The models are mapped onto a field theory which prop...
متن کاملMicrostructural study of Ti/3YSZ interface in NI 105/Ni/Nb/Ti/3YSZ diffusion bonding
In this research, the diffusion bonding of the stabilized zirconia ceramic and Nimonic 105 superalloy using Ti/Nb/Ni multi-interlayer was carried out. Joint was performed using the plasma spark technique in a vacuum atmosphere and at different temperatures and times. The microstructure of the different joint zones was studied using optical and FESEM microscopes equipped with an EDS analyzer. Th...
متن کاملTime-Dependent Real-Space Renormalization Group Method
In this paper, using the tight-binding model, we extend the real-space renormalization group method to time-dependent Hamiltonians. We drive the time-dependent recursion relations for the renormalized tight-binding Hamiltonian by decimating selective sites of lattice iteratively. The formalism is then used for the calculation of the local density of electronic states for a one dimensional quant...
متن کاملApplications of Field-Theoretic Renormalization Group Methods to Reaction-Diffusion Problems
We review the application of field-theoretic renormalization group (RG) methods to the study of fluctuations in reaction-diffusion problems. We first investigate the physical origin of universality in these systems, before comparing RG methods to other available analytic techniques, including exact solutions and Smoluchowski-type approximations. Starting from the microscopic reaction-diffusion ...
